How the LP Siding Settlement Process Works
The deadline to file a claim the Class Action Law Suit against Louisiana Pacific was December 31, 2002. The settlement stated that LP’s final funding obligation must be paid on or before October 3, 2004. Homeowners in Portland, Vancouver, and other Northwest cities may still be eligible for Louisiana Pacific’s LP Siding Warranty Program. Interested homeowners can call 1 (877) 677-6722.
Early in the Class Action lawsuit homeowners were receiving a substantial settlement for their defective LP siding. This was followed by a period when people received only a small portion of what it would cost to hire a siding contractor for LP siding replacement. Now that the deadline for the class action lawsuit has passed, the amount available to homeowners under warranty claims will vary depending on the style of LP siding and damage.
If you have LP Siding on your home and have not settled, you can still file a warranty claim. However, you MUST NOT replace your siding BEFORE you file a claim. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions about filing a warranty claim. We can even help with questions about replacing Weyerhauser siding, Georgia Pacific siding, Masonite siding, Clad-Board siding, DriVit siding, and others and get you started with the claims process.
